Poker Night
The 3rd Annual Poker Tournament Fundraiser
The “Lone Soldiers" of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are young men and women from all around the world who come to Israel alone and leave behind their home, friends and family to join the IDF to defend the existence and strengthen the security of the state of Israel. The importance and contribution of the Lone Soldiers to Israel and to the IDF is immeasurable.
We, at Ezra USA as part of our ongoing support of the state of Israel, are proud to host the upcoming 3rd Annual Poker Night whose proceeds will go towards The Flights for Lone Soldiers Program at FIDF. This program funds the airfare for lone soldiers, enabling them to travel back to their country of origin. The soldiers are then free to spend time with their loved ones and share experiences from IDF and Israeli life.
Every month, Lone Soldiers apply to visit their families abroad. With the help of your support, we can help make this a reality for some of them and reunite them with their loved ones.
Dmitriy Salita's Upcoming Fight
Ezra USA, Salita Promotions and Universal Boxing are proud to announce Dmitriy "Star of David" Salita's (31-1-1, 16 KO) upcoming fight for the IBA Welterweight World Title against "Mighty" Mike Anchondo (30-3, 19 KO) on December 16 at Roseland Ballroom in Time Square, NYC.
Dmitriy is coming off of an impressive performance against Franklin Gonzalez on his first self-promoted show "The Redemption" in September (televised exclusively by The Jewish Channel).
Dmitriy started his early preparations for his upcoming title bout in September training at Universal Boxing Club in Queens, NY with his trainer Nirmal Lorick. Over the last few weeks Dmitriy relocated to the Kronk Gym in Detroit, to work with one of the best in the business the legendary trainer and manager Emanuel Steward. Emanuel has followed Dmitriy's career from U.S. Nationals, Golden Gloves and now as a professional.
Steward has also given some boxing lessons to Detroit's own, rapper, record producer, and actor Marshall Mathers aka Eminem who, at the time, was preparing to play Salita in a Walt Disney film titled "Knockout."
"I am enjoying my time at the Kronk," said Salita. "Emanuel Steward's experience is providing me with a great deal of boxing education, while working with world champions and top prospects. Winning a world title is my destiny and I will face it head on December 16."
Reggae superstar, Matisyahu will accompany Dmitriy to the ring with a special performance.

Friday Night Dinner
Every month we have a Shabbat dinner. We are able to have these Shabbat dinners thanks to the generous sponsorship of the UJA- Federation. We begin the dinner with Kiddush, Netyalat Yadayim and Hamotzi. Throughout the meal there is a lot of interaction between the participants, who begin to realize that Shabbat Dinner is a time for friends and family and that there is a certain beauty to this sacred tradition. After the festive meal we begin the educational part. Every Shabbat dinner contains a number of Jewish-themed activities run by the Madrichim of EZRA USA, The purpose of these lectures is to inform and answer any questions about the Jewish world in a very relaxed and friendly environment.
